John Denver was a superstar performer who influenced millions of people by his popular-folk hits and many of them inspired by Colorado. He was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, the singer-songwriter fell in love with Colorado and eventually moved to Aspen. Denver's famous anthems about Colorado have inspired many people to make the move to Colorado. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame said that John Denver was by far one of the most well-known performers who embodies Colorado. In the year 2011, Denver was named the first Hall of Fame inductee. Denver is today Colorado's international image. On my journeys around the world, I've met a lot of people who are not from Colorado. They will declare, "Oh John Denver!" When they hear you come from Colorado. Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads - cowritten with Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo singer after a brief period in small folk ensembles. Danoff originally wrote it using Johnny Cash's songs with a focus on Johnny Cash, however Denver knew from the first time he heard earlier versions that it could be a huge success. Danoff recorded the song within a couple of days of performing in Washington D.C. before an audience that was very enthusiastic.
