Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig in September 21 in 1983. She is an American Actress best known as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. After her parents' divorce her parents separated, she moved to Worthington Ohio in order to settle in Los Angeles. Although she was struggling financially, her 2001 debut was as Rachel's Room's primary character. Her portrayal in the role of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the T.V. movie Murder In Greenwich in 2002, earned her a nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford was the lead actress in Lost in its two initial seasons. In 2004, she won the Screen Actors Guild Award with all of the ensemble. Grace wanted to focus on film following her role as Tom Welling's character on The Fog, in 2005. She has appeared in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club as well in 2007 as well as in Taken with Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. She reprised the role in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the leading role in Alice In Malice in Wonderland a modern version of Lewis Carroll's classic novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played Shannon's part on Lost for two episodes. This included the final episode of the series. The year 2013 saw Grace appear in Californianation, the 6th season. She portrays Faith, who is an admirer and muse to the celebrities. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. She belongs to the Gyllenhaal family and is the younger sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. In her early teens, she played small parts in the films of her father and co-starred with her older twin brother on Donnie Darko which is a cult classic. Her subsequent roles included Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, both 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her leading performances in the erotic romance comedy Secretary (2002) and in the dramatic Sherrybaby (2006) each of which resulted in a Golden Globe Award nomination. She starred in numerous commercially successful films, such as World Trade Center. However the role she played as Rachel Dawes that brought her wider attention in The Dark Knight (2008). In recognition of her role as a single mother in Crazy Heart (2009) she received a nomination for Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She then played in comedies and dramas, including Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012 Other parts include acting as a Secret Service agent of The Secret Service in White House Down 2013. She also appeared as a vocalist in Frank 2014, and as a singer in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, where she portrays the main role. Gyllenhaal wrote and directed her first feature film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The thriller that dealt with psychological issues was awarded the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The film was also nominated for The Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
